At WebOps Hosting, security is built on layers. While Imunify360 and NinjaFirewall protect your server and application from the inside, Sucuri SiteCheck serves as our external auditor, providing an independent verification that your website is clean, visible, and trusted by the public.
The Role of External Verification
We use Sucuri SiteCheck integrated directly into our central management dashboard (MainWP) to scan your website from the "outside looking in." This approach mimics how search engines (like Google) and visitors see your site, ensuring that:
- Your site is not flagged on any global blacklists.
- No visible malware or "SEO spam" is injecting links into your pages.
- Your SSL certificate is valid and recognized.
Why We Include This in Reports
Transparency is key to trust. While our internal firewalls block thousands of attacks daily, you often don't see that silent protection. Sucuri SiteCheck provides a visible, third-party seal of approval that you can see in your monthly maintenance reports.
It answers the critical question: "Is my website safe for my customers right now?"
What It Scans For
Each scan verifies multiple touchpoints of your online reputation:
- Malware Signatures: Checks for known malicious code snippets on public pages.
- Blacklist Status: Verifies your site against Google Safe Browsing, Norton, McAfee, and others.
- Website Errors: Detects severe internal server errors that might block visitors.
- Outdated Software: Flags visible CMS or plugin versions that may be vulnerable.
A Note on "False Warnings"
Occasionally, Sucuri may flag a "hardening improvement" (like a missing firewall header) that we have deliberately handled at a server level. Because Sucuri scans from the outside, it cannot always see our internal defenses (like Imunify360). Rest assured, we review every scan result to distinguish between genuine issues and these false positives.
