Every WordPress site hosted with WebOps Hosting includes the Imunify Security plugin, pre-installed and ready to use. This lightweight plugin connects your WordPress dashboard to our server-level Imunify360 security system, giving you visibility into your site's security status without any configuration required.
What Does the Imunify Security Plugin Do?
The Imunify Security plugin is a dashboard interface—it shows you what's happening with your site's security, but the actual protection happens at the server level through Imunify360.

The plugin provides:
- Security status overview: At-a-glance view of your site's protection status
- Scan results: See what the malware scanner has found (and cleaned)
- Security events: Log of blocked attacks, quarantined files, and other security activity
- Notifications: Alerts about security issues that may need attention
What the Plugin Doesn't Do
Unlike security plugins such as Wordfence or Sucuri, the Imunify Security plugin doesn't:
- Run scans (scanning happens at the server level)
- Block attacks (that's handled by Imunify360 and our WAF)
- Consume your site's PHP resources
- Require configuration or setup
Think of it as a window into the security system that's already protecting your site—not the security system itself.
Using the Plugin Dashboard

To access the plugin dashboard:
- Log into your WordPress admin area
- Look for Imunify Security in the left sidebar (or under the Security menu)
- Click to view your security dashboard
The dashboard shows:
- Protection status: Confirmation that Imunify360 is active
- Recent scans: When your files were last scanned and what was found
- Quarantined files: Any infected files that have been isolated
- Cleaned files: Malware that was automatically removed
- Security events: Recent attack attempts and how they were handled
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to configure the plugin?
No. The plugin is pre-configured and works automatically. It simply displays information from Imunify360—there are no settings you need to adjust.
Can I disable or remove the plugin?
You can deactivate it if you prefer not to see the dashboard, but we recommend keeping it active for visibility. Disabling the plugin doesn't affect your security—Imunify360 continues protecting your site at the server level regardless.
The dashboard shows a security event—what should I do?
In most cases, no action is needed. The event has already been handled by Imunify360. If you see a notification asking you to take action, or if you're unsure what an event means, contact our support team and we'll help you understand it.
Will this plugin slow down my site?
No. The plugin is extremely lightweight—it only loads in the WordPress admin area and simply displays data from the server. It doesn't run any scans or security checks that would affect your site's frontend performance.
Do I still need Wordfence or another security plugin?
No. Our server-level security (Imunify360 + NinjaFirewall) provides comprehensive protection that's equivalent to or better than WordPress security plugins. Adding another security plugin would be redundant and could actually slow your site down. The Imunify Security plugin gives you the visibility that other security plugins provide, without the overhead.
What if I see malware detected in the dashboard?
If Imunify360 detected and cleaned malware, the dashboard will show you what was found and confirm it's been removed. For most detections, no action is needed—the threat has already been neutralized. If you're concerned or want more details, our support team can provide a full report.
