Four Ways to Reach Your Subscribers

MailPoet offers several types of email campaigns, each designed for a different purpose. Here's a quick overview to help you pick the right one.

1. Newsletter (Standard Email)

A one-time email you compose, design, and send to one or more of your lists. This is the most common type - use it for:

  • Event announcements and updates
  • Promotions or special offers
  • Company news or monthly roundups
  • Any message you want to send right now (or schedule for later)

You write it, pick your list, and hit send. It goes out once. See Sending Your First Newsletter for a step-by-step walkthrough.

2. Latest Post Notifications

Automatically emails your subscribers whenever you publish a new blog post (or on a schedule - daily, weekly, or monthly). This is great if your site publishes articles or news regularly and you want subscribers to be notified without manually sending each time.

You set it up once and it runs on its own.

3. Re-engagement Emails

Targets subscribers who haven't opened or clicked your emails in a while. You set a timeframe (e.g., "hasn't engaged in 3 months") and MailPoet automatically sends them a nudge - a chance to re-subscribe or confirm they still want to hear from you.

This helps keep your list healthy and your open rates strong.

4. Automations

Emails triggered by specific actions or events. Common examples:

  • Welcome email - sent automatically when someone subscribes
  • WooCommerce follow-ups - order confirmations, abandoned cart reminders, review requests
  • Drip sequences - a series of emails sent on a schedule after signup

Automations are powerful but take more planning to set up. If you'd like help configuring an automation, let us know and we can walk you through it or set it up as part of our Content Operations service.
