Your Independent Analytics dashboard is pre-installed and ready to use on your WebOps Hosting site. Let's walk through the key features you'll see when you view your analytics.
Accessing Your Dashboard
From your WordPress admin area, look for Analytics in your sidebar menu. Click it to open your analytics dashboard. WebOps has already configured Independent Analytics Pro on your site, so all features are available right away.
The Quick Stats Overview
At the top of every report, you'll find the Quick Stats section. This gives you a snapshot of your site's performance at a glance.
By default, Quick Stats displays six important metrics:
- Views - Total page views on your site
- Visitors - Number of unique people who visited
- Sessions - Number of distinct visits to your site
- Average Session Duration - How long visitors stay on average
- Bounce Rate - Percentage of single-page visits
- Views Per Session - Average pages viewed per visit
Each metric shows a percentage comparing your current period to the previous one. For example, if you're viewing the last 30 days, the percentage shows how you're doing compared to the 30 days before that.
Changing Your Date Range
In the top toolbar, you'll find the date selector. Click it to choose from preset ranges like "Last 30 Days" or "This Month," or select custom dates. The Quick Stats and all data below update instantly based on your selection.
The Four Core Reports
Independent Analytics includes four essential reports that give you different views of your traffic:
1. Pages Report
This is your default view when you open the dashboard. It shows every page on your site that received at least one view, ranked by traffic. You can see which content resonates most with your audience.
What you'll see: Each page listed with its views, visitors, bounce rate, and other engagement metrics. Click any page title to drill deeper into its specific traffic sources.
2. Referrers Report
This report answers the question "Where is my traffic coming from?" You'll see search engines, social media, referring websites, and direct traffic all broken down clearly.
What you'll see: Traffic sources grouped into categories like Google Search, Facebook, Twitter, referring domains, and direct/none. Understanding referrers helps you know which marketing channels work best.
3. Geographic Report
See where your visitors are located geographically. The report breaks down traffic by country, and you can drill down to see states and cities.
What you'll see: A sortable list of countries with visitor counts and views. If you serve specific regions or are considering expansion, this data is invaluable.
4. Devices Report
Find out what devices, browsers, and operating systems your visitors use. This helps you understand how to optimize your site.
What you'll see: Breakdowns by device type (desktop, mobile, tablet), browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox), and operating system. You can make informed decisions about which platforms to prioritize.
Working with Your Data
Every report includes powerful tools in the toolbar:
- Edit Columns - Choose which data columns to display
- Filter - Narrow down results by specific criteria
- Sort - Click any column header to sort by that metric
- Export - Download your data as CSV or PDF
These tools make it easy to answer specific questions about your traffic without needing to be a data analyst.
The Chart View
Below the Quick Stats, you'll find a visual chart showing your traffic trends over time. Click any metric in the Quick Stats to graph it, or select multiple metrics to compare them. The chart helps you spot trends, seasonal patterns, and the impact of your marketing efforts.
