GravityView Social Sharing & SEO Print

When you use GravityView to display Gravity Forms entries as public pages—member directories, business listings, job boards—each entry becomes its own page. The Social Sharing & SEO extension makes those pages shareable and searchable by adding proper meta tags for social media and search engines.

What This Extension Does

Without this extension, sharing a GravityView entry link on Facebook or LinkedIn shows a generic preview (or no preview at all). Search engines may not index individual entries effectively. The Social Sharing & SEO extension fixes both problems:

  • Open Graph tags: Controls how entries appear when shared on Facebook, LinkedIn, and other platforms—custom title, description, and image
  • Twitter Card tags: Optimizes appearance for Twitter/X sharing
  • SEO meta tags: Adds title and description tags so individual entries can rank in search results
  • Canonical URLs: Prevents duplicate content issues when entries are accessible via multiple URLs

When You Need This

This extension is valuable when your GravityView entries are meant to be discovered and shared:

  • Member or staff directories: Each person's profile can be shared and found via search
  • Business or service directories: Listings appear properly when shared, can rank for business names
  • Real estate or property listings: Individual properties shareable with proper images and descriptions
  • Job boards: Job postings can be shared on LinkedIn with correct formatting
  • Event listings: Events shareable with proper titles and images

If your GravityView entries are internal-only (not meant for public discovery), you likely don't need this extension.

How It Works

The extension pulls meta information from your entry fields. You configure which fields map to which meta tags:

Meta Tag Typically Mapped To
Title Name field, listing title, or job title
Description Bio field, listing description, or summary
Image Profile photo, featured image, or logo upload

Once configured, every single entry page automatically gets the right meta tags based on its content.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this work with all GravityView layouts?

The SEO and social tags apply to single entry pages (when viewing one entry). They don't affect the main View page that lists multiple entries—that page uses your theme's normal meta tags.

Do I need a separate SEO plugin?

This extension handles meta tags specifically for GravityView single entry pages. Your site's main SEO plugin (like The SEO Framework) handles the rest of your site. They work together without conflict.

Will this make my entries rank in Google?

It gives entries the technical foundation to rank—proper titles, descriptions, and indexable URLs. Whether they actually rank depends on content quality, competition, and your site's overall authority.

Can visitors share entries directly?

This extension handles the meta tags (how shares look), not share buttons. For share buttons on entry pages, you'd add those separately via your theme or a sharing plugin.

Included With Your GravityView License

The Social Sharing & SEO extension is part of the GravityView package included with your hosting. If you need help configuring field mappings for your directory or listings, or setting up a GravityView-powered directory from scratch, our Content Operations service can handle the setup.
