The Gravity Forms PayPal Checkout Add-on offers the most modern way to accept PayPal payments. Unlike the old "PayPal Standard" (which redirected users away from your site), this integration keeps users on your page and supports Venmo and Pay Later options.
Integration Setup
As part of our managed service, we support this premium add-on.
1. Connect to PayPal
- Navigate to Forms » Settings » PayPal Checkout.
- Click the Connect with PayPal button.
- Log in to your PayPal Business account to authorize the connection.
- Once connected, toggle the Mode to "Production" (or "Sandbox" for testing).
2. Configure the Feed
Just like Stripe, PayPal requires a "Feed" to trigger the payment.
- Open your form and go to Settings » PayPal Checkout.
- Add a new Feed.
- Transaction Type: Choose "Products and Services" (One-time) or "Subscription".
- Payment Amount: Select your "Total" field.
Why Use "Checkout" vs "Standard"?
- On-Site Experience: Customers pay via a modal window without leaving your site.
- Smart Buttons: Automatically shows local payment methods (like Venmo in the US or iDEAL in Europe).
- Recurring Billing: Supports subscriptions without the complex IPN setup of the old standard version.
Professional Payment Configuration
We can help you navigate the PayPal Developer dashboard to get the right API keys and set up Instant Payment Notifications (IPN) so orders never get lost.
- Sandbox Testing (Included Support): We can create a dedicated testing environment to ensure your checkout flow works perfectly.
- IPN Troubleshooting (Included Support): If you use the older method, we can debug Instant Payment Notification issues.
- Refund Management (Content Operations): We can show you how to process refunds directly from the WordPress dashboard.
