This guide covers both automatic and manual setup methods for Microsoft Outlook. Note that automatic setup (Autodiscover) is only supported in Outlook 2016 and earlier versions.
Automatic Setup (Outlook 2016 and Earlier)
- Start Outlook Setup
- Open Microsoft Outlook
- Click File → Add Account
- Select "Email Account"
- Enter Account Information
- Type your name
- Enter email address
- Input password
- Click "Next"
- Complete Setup
- Wait for automatic configuration
- Click "Finish" when complete
Manual Setup (All Outlook Versions)
- Start Manual Setup
- Open Microsoft Outlook
- Click File → Add Account
- Select "Manual setup or additional server types"
- Choose "POP or IMAP"
- Enter User Information
- Your Name: [Your full name]
- Email Address: your.email@yourdomain.com
- Configure Server Settings
- Incoming Mail Server (IMAP)
- Server: mail.yourdomain.com
- Port: 993
- Encryption: SSL/TLS
- Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
- Server: mail.yourdomain.com
- Port: 465
- Encryption: SSL/TLS
- Incoming Mail Server (IMAP)
- Configure Authentication
- Click "More Settings"
- Go to "Outgoing Server" tab
- Check "My outgoing server requires authentication"
- Select "Use same settings as incoming mail server"
- Complete Setup
- Click "Next" to test settings
- Wait for test completion
- Click "Finish"
