Your Independent Analytics Pro includes two powerful features that keep you informed about your website's performance: automated email reports and real-time monitoring. Get scheduled updates delivered to your inbox automatically, and check live visitor activity whenever you need instant feedback.

Why Automate Your Analytics Workflow?

Manually checking analytics every day takes time you could spend growing your business. And without real-time visibility, you can't respond quickly to traffic spikes, marketing launches, or potential issues. These two features solve both problems:

  • Email reports keep you and your team automatically updated
  • Real-time monitoring shows you what's happening right now
  • Both save time and reduce stress
  • You stay informed without constantly checking your dashboard

Automated Email Reports

Email reports send beautiful HTML summaries of your analytics directly to your inbox on a schedule you choose—daily, weekly, or monthly.

What's Included in Each Report

Every email report includes:

  • Quick Stats - Views, visitors, sessions, and conversion metrics at a glance
  • Views Chart - Visual trend showing traffic over the reporting period
  • Top 10 Pages - Your most-viewed pages and posts
  • Top 10 Referrers - Sources sending you the most traffic
  • Top 10 Countries - Geographic breakdown of your audience
  • Top 10 Devices - Desktop vs mobile vs tablet traffic
  • Top 10 Campaigns - UTM campaign performance
  • Top 10 Forms - Form submission leaders
  • Top 10 Link Patterns - Most-clicked tracked links
  • Top 10 Landing Pages - Entry points driving traffic
  • Top 10 Exit Pages - Where visitors leave your site

If you're tracking WooCommerce sales, the report also includes Orders and Net Sales in the Quick Stats.

Scheduling Email Reports

Email report settings showing interval options and time selection

Setting up email reports takes less than a minute:

  1. Go to Analytics > Settings > Email Report
  2. Choose your interval: Daily, Weekly, or Monthly
  3. Set the time of day you want the report delivered
  4. Add email addresses (as many as you need)
  5. Optionally customize colors to match your brand
  6. Click Save Changes

After saving, you'll see confirmation showing when the next report will be sent.

Multiple Recipients

Send reports to your entire team, clients, or stakeholders. Add as many email addresses as needed from the settings page. The first address appears in the "To" field, and all others are automatically BCC'd for privacy.

White-Labeled and Customizable

The email report doesn't mention Independent Analytics anywhere—it's completely white-labeled. You can customize 10 different color settings to match your brand or client's brand. This makes it perfect for agencies sending reports to clients under their own branding.

Test Before Sending

Use the Send Test Email button to receive a preview in your inbox before the report goes to everyone. Use the Preview Email button to see how customized colors look without sending anything.

Common Use Cases for Email Reports

  • Agency client reporting - Automated monthly updates keep clients informed
  • Team updates - Marketing teams stay aligned on traffic and conversions
  • Personal tracking - Wake up to yesterday's stats every morning
  • Executive summaries - Leadership sees high-level metrics without logging in
  • Remote monitoring - Keep tabs on multiple sites without checking each dashboard

Real-Time Monitoring

The Real-Time Analytics report shows you exactly what's happening on your website right now—how many people are online, which pages they're viewing, and where they came from.

Active Visitors

The Active Visitors metric displays how many people are on your site right now. Independent Analytics defines "active" as anyone who viewed a page within the last 5 minutes. The count updates automatically every 10 seconds, so you always see current numbers.

Active Pages

See which specific pages are being viewed right now and how many views each has received in the past 5 minutes. This is incredibly useful during product launches, blog post releases, or marketing campaigns—you can watch in real-time as visitors land on your new content.

Live Charts

Two charts show your traffic trends:

  • Last 5 Minutes - Ultra-granular view of very recent activity
  • Last 30 Minutes - Broader context to spot patterns

These charts help you understand if your current traffic is normal, growing, or declining.

Real-Time Top 10 Lists

The Real-Time report includes Top 10 widgets for:

  • Pages being viewed now
  • Referrers sending current traffic
  • Countries visitors are from
  • Campaigns driving real-time visits
  • Devices being used right now

This lets you drill into traffic spikes and understand exactly where a surge is coming from.

When to Use Real-Time Monitoring

  • After email sends - Watch subscribers click through to your site
  • During social media posts - See immediate engagement from followers
  • Product launches - Monitor initial response and traffic patterns
  • Paid ad testing - Verify campaigns are driving traffic immediately
  • Troubleshooting - Check if your site is accessible and receiving traffic
  • Unexpected spikes - Investigate sudden traffic increases to identify the source

Using Email Reports and Real-Time Together

These features complement each other perfectly:

  • Email reports keep you informed about long-term trends and patterns
  • Real-time monitoring handles immediate needs and time-sensitive situations
  • Together, they eliminate the need to manually check your dashboard daily

For example, you might rely on weekly email reports for routine tracking, but check real-time stats after launching a new marketing campaign to see immediate results.

Email Reports Best Practices

  • Match the interval to your needs - Daily for active monitoring, weekly for routine tracking, monthly for high-level reviews
  • Send to relevant stakeholders - Marketing sees campaigns, executives see high-level metrics, clients see results
  • Customize colors for clients - Match their brand to create professional, white-labeled reports
  • Use test emails - Always preview before sending to large groups
  • Review regularly - Even automated reports require occasional review to spot trends

Real-Time Monitoring Best Practices

  • Check after major actions - Email sends, social posts, ad launches, content publishing
  • Use during events - Webinars, live streams, flash sales, limited-time promotions
  • Monitor the charts - Don't just look at the visitor count—check the charts for trends
  • Investigate spikes - Use the Top 10 lists to understand where unexpected traffic originates
  • Verify campaigns - Confirm UTM-tagged links are working correctly

No Performance Impact

Neither feature affects your website's performance. Email reports are generated server-side and sent via email—they don't involve your website at all. Real-time tracking uses the same lightweight analytics already running on your site, with data updating every 10 seconds without additional overhead.

Perfect for Agencies

If you manage multiple client sites, these features are invaluable:

  • Set up white-labeled email reports for each client with their branding
  • Monitor real-time stats across all sites when launching campaigns
  • Keep clients informed without manual reporting work
  • Quickly verify new campaigns and content are driving traffic

Mobile-Friendly Email Reports

Email reports use responsive HTML that looks great on all devices. Your team can review stats on their phones without logging into WordPress or opening a laptop. All charts, tables, and metrics format beautifully on small screens.
